It's been a pretty decent day for late February in eastern and northern Maine, with a mix of clouds and breaks of sun through much of the day. Changes will come this evening as a slow moving area of low pressure will produce some snow, sleet and rain across the region.  Expect this mixed mess to be with us overnight and into the day tomorrow, making for a tough morning commute for most neighborhoods. I don't anticipate wind to be a major factor, and with somewhat mild air in place cold temperatures won't be an issue either. The major issue will be sloppy and slick roads through most of the day into tomorrow evening.  As far as accumulation goes, look for around 3-6" in the Newport-Bangor-Calais-Lincoln-Houlton area, with less snow near the coast due to more mixing with rain. The jackpot area will be in the upper elevation areas where less mixing will happen, such as the foothills and western mountains of Maine (7-12" of snow can be expected in those areas.)  Friday will bring clouds along with snow and rain showers, with slow improvement as we head into the weekend.
