The cold front that moved through New England yesterday has been stalled offshore through the day today. Low pressure riding along that front will bring us periods of rain through the overnight hours. Despite the clouds and the rain temperatures will still cool to around 40 degrees. The rain and clouds clear during the early morning hours setting the stage for a beautiful Columbus Day forecast. Skies will be partly cloudy on Tuesday. Next chance of showers will be midweek.

Tonight - Cloudy skies, light winds, and some patchy fog. Rain will move into southern Maine and New Hampshire during the evening hours and continue to track northeast. Overnight lows around 40 degrees.

Columbus Day - Rain and clouds clear out during the early morning hours. We will get into sunny skies, and through the day skies will be partly to mostly sunny. High temperatures still remain below normal in the 50s.

Monday Night - Partly cloudy skies and chilly lows in the lower 30s away from the immediate coast.

Extended Forecast - Partly cloudy skies on Tuesday with just the slight chance of an isolated shower in far southern Maine and New Hampshire. More clouds Wednesday with scattered showers. Our weather looks quiet for the end of the work week. Next weekend starts out sunny, but may end on a wet note.
