Camden National Bank in Bingham robbed

BINGHAM, Maine (NEWSCENTER) -- At approximately 11:07am the Somerset County Sheriff's Department was dispatched to a bank robbery at the Camden National Bank on Main Street in Bingham.

Investigation has revealed that a lone, heavy set, white male, approximately 6 ft., wearing a black ski mask, gray sweatshirt, gloves, was armed with a hammer when he robbed the bank. The suspect left the bank on foot, and after a canine track by Deputy David Cole and his dog, Rugar, it was determined that the individual left the area by vehicle. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken, and no one was hurt during the robbery.

The investigation is on-going at this time, and Detective Michael Ross is the primary investigator.
