GORHAM, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Gorham Police are investigating a fatal accident involving a dump truck and a minivan that shut down Route 25 this morning.

Police say the Gorham Sand and Gravel dump truck was travelling east down the road and swerved to avoid a 1-ton pickup that was turning left into Grondin's Brandy Brook Quarry.

The dump truck slammed into the minivan, which was travelling in the other direction -- and rolled over it, killing the driver -- 68-year old Marjorie Mullett of Dayton.

Mullett's passenger, 58-year old Gail Lavoie of Brownfield, and the driver of the dump truck, 59-year old Ronald Pratt of Gray -- were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are trying to figure out whether the dump truck had a mechanical failure -- or whether speed was a factor in the crash.
