BIDDEFORD, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Five weeks before starting high school, Corey LaPlume was diagnosed with leukemia.
He beat it and was once again a healthy kid for a majority of the next few years.
But five weeks before he graduated, the leukemia came back with a vengeance and he's now fighting a familiar, but more intense battle, once again. He needs a bone marrow transplant to help him beat leukemia for the second time.
A bone marrow registry drive is being held at 11 Morin Street in Biddeford from 9-2 on Wednesday, June 26 to help find Corey a match.
