LEWISTON, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- They started by laying 12 roses along Veteran's Memorial Park in Lewiston.
Then, they prepared 12 meals at the Ronald McDonald House in Portland.
Twelve teddy bears for Toys for Tots, 12 children's books to the Auburn YMCA, 12 letters to troops overseas, and other gestures all added up to 12 acts of kindness from Rinck Advertising in Auburn.
"I thought it would be something to recognize the day and have a little fun," said Katie Greenlaw, a member of the Rinck Advertising agency.
"We thought...why don't we make it about our community, and giving back to the area?"
Greenlaw said her coworkers posted a Facebook status about their acts of kindness at 12:12 p.m.
She said if the status receives 1200 "likes" by midnight, Rinck Advertising will donate $1,200 to the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing in Lewiston.
