State police investigating Stockton Springs homicide

STOCKTON SPRINGS, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- State police are investigating a homicide in the town of Stockton Springs.

State Police Spokesman Steve McCausland says 31-year-old David Linscott was found dead outside a home located at 626 U.S. Route 1 in Stockton Springs early Saturday morning.  He says the home is owned by 36-year-old Robert Tucker. 

Police say Linscott and Tucker got into an altercation and Tucker shot Linscott around 12:30 a.m. Saturday.  No arrests have been made, and no charges have been filed.

State Police spent the morning conducting interviews and investigating at the scene.  Tucker and some friends who were at the home at the time of the shooting have all been interviewed.

Linscott's body has been taken to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Augusta for an autopsy.
