AUGUSTA, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Police say an elder Mainer was restrained during a robbery of his home.

Around 3:00 Monday morning, officers from the Augusta Police Department were called to a home on Eight Rod Road for a report of a robbery.

Police say the home owner told them that he'd returned to his house about an hour earlier and came across two men already inside. He said they'd apparently been waiting for him. He told police that he was threatened with a weapon and the men demanded prescription drugs and money.

The man says he was retrained by the suspect while they searched his home.

They made off with the man's property and left him tied up.

Police say the man was shaken by the incident, but didn't need medical attention.
