Festival teaches kids the importance of clean water

ORONO, Maine (NEWS CENTER) --- Many school children were at the University of Maine on Wednesday where they leanred about the importance water plays in the state's environment.

The university hosted the 2012 Northern Maine Children's Water Festival. School children attend the event every two years. The festival focuses on teaching them about Maine's water quality, the people and animals who depend on it and the importance of maintaining clean water.

The water lessons came through exhibits and hands on activities.
