PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Red Sox fans are some of the most dedicated sports fans in the country. Six years ago, one young fan showed us just how much the team meant to him.
During the 2007 World Series, eight year-old Ben Hanna came home from school to find that his backyard had been transformed into his very own Fenway Park. It was a wish granted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation as Ben battled a rare blood disorder. The field still stands today, and Ben, now fourteen years-old, is in remission. Ben's parents say as they watch the Red Sox play another World Series, they are reminded of how far their son has come. Ben says he doesn't use the field as much as he used to, but when he thinks about dismantling it, he realizes how much it means to him.
"I've thought about it, but I enjoy it a lot and I think it's a good reminder of what I've been through and it's a good thing to have out here" Hanna said.
