DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) -- A fleet of bikes will hit the University of Dayton's campus this week. It's all in an effort to help the environment and the students.
"I had a bell on my old bike at home," says Astrid Getter as she sizes up the free bike she got from The University of Dayton.
The new flyer came from Puerto Rico and ready to explore Dayton.
Astrid Getter says, "I am really excited about the new bike trails I am ready to get on the bike. My parents bought me a helmet already."
The University of Dayton started the bike pledge program this year. About 300 students vowed not to bring a car to campus their first two years. One hundred of those were chosen to receive brand new bikes. UD hopes two wheels instead of four will speak volumes.
