(NEWS CENTER) - It was 22 years ago this week that Hurricane Bob slammed into Maine as a tropical depression.

The storm killed three people and caused almost thirty million dollars in the greater Portland area alone.

About 180,000 people lost power during the storm. It took more than a week to get some places back online. The National Weather Service even got a report of a tornado touching down in St. Alban.

Rivers swelled past their banks, knocking out bridges. Portland got 8 inches of rain during the storm-- That's more than the city got all of last month. Here's a look back with reports from Susan Kimball.
