(WHDH) It's no surprise man's best friend likes to stick close by, but your dog might want to take a backseat the next time you're driving.
"We were at a stop, just like this, and he came over to the car and said it's against the law for me to have a dog in my lap while I'm driving," said Chris Whyknock.
Chris Whyknock and his puppy, Bear, were driving along when a Massachusetts state trooper spotted the dog gave Whyknock a $35 dollar ticket.
"I didn't know what to think. I was totally unaware that it's against the law," Whyknock said.
But it is.
