ASTORIA, Oregon (KGW) -- Rainfall records for September were shattered throughout Western Oregon and Southwest Washington over the weekend, with power outages continuing through Monday morning.
The series of storms led to 5.06 inches of rainfall this month at Portland International Airport, mostly over the last weekend. The previous record was 4.1 inches in 1986, with normal rainfall 1.5 inches.
Astoria has had 10.5 inches, with the previous record of 8.7 inches going back to 1906. Eugene has had 6.2 inches, topping the 5.2 inches that fell in 1927.Vancouver has had five inches, passing the record of 4.9 inches in 1911.
