AUGUSTA, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The Employer Support of Guard and Reserve Program brought together National Guard leadership, community leaders and employers to improve relationships between the parties and support National Guard members Thursday morning.

"We work toward educating employers what employees (National Guard members) have gone through," Josh Cashwell, who is a part of the ESGR.

The ESGR considers themselves the bridge between employers and National Guard members. The forum, called "Briefing the Boss", discussed the group's mission and aimed to educate. Governor LePage spoke at the event and there were several presentations.

The event was at the Senator Inn and Spa in Augusta from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m.
