Bill Bixby played the Hulk's alter ego on TV.  He was born on Jan. 22, 1934.

Bixby's most famous quote from the series was, "You wouldn't like me when I'm angry."  It was his performance that helped solidify certain aspects of the Hulk's mythology -- such as his rage-fueled transformations -- with the general public.

In his first few comic book adventures, the Hulk would emerge at sunset only to change back to Bruce Banner in the morning.  His transformations became more unpredictable after another exposure to gamma radiation.

There was also another big difference in those early stories. The Hulk's skin was originally grey, not green.
