Lynn Plourde, author of 28 children's books
PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Maine writers are urging their fans to remember to visit their local bookstores as they go about their holiday shopping.
The campaign is called Indies First. It's being held to coincide with Small Business Saturday. The goal is to drive customers to independent bookstores by having authors serve as guest book sellers.
One of the authors taking part is Lynn Plourde. She will be splitting her time between Apple Valley Books in her hometown of Winthrop and Children's Bookseller in Waterville.
Across the country, about 1,000 authors are planning to visit 500 stores.
