(NEWS CENTER) -- Five-year-old Delia Binette has never been healthy a day in her life.
She was born with mitochondrial disease - a disease that causes her to have developmental delays, epilepsy, and a feeding tube. She was recently diagnosed with a rare childhood cancer, too, that is making her - and her family's life - even more challenging.
As part of Delia's treatment, she must go to Mass General in Boston every 10 days for four to five days at a time, if not longer. Gas, food, lodging for family members, and other expenses are adding up quickly for the Binettes.
Delia's mother Kristine and family friend Jess Proctor joined us to tell us how we can help this little girl.
Sunday, April 7, an event that's sure to be filled with lots of butterflies and prizes, "Dollars 4 Delia", will be held at Clambake in Scarborough from 1-4pm. An auction will be held at 3pm.
