Sanford Police release video of Credit Union robbery

SANFORD, Maine - The Sanford Police Department confirmed to NEWS CENTER that the Ocean Community Federal Credit Union at 48 Alfred Road was robbed by an armed suspect at approximately 11 A.M. on Saturday.

Police say a man, pictured above, walked into the credit union, displayed a revolver and demanded cash. He fled with an undisclosed amount of money into the woods near the Center for Shopping Plaza.

Police describe the male as being approximately five feet eight inches with a salt and pepper mustache. He had short stubble for facial hair and was wearing a black beanie hat, grey jacket and sunglasses. Police say the suspect displayed a silver six inch barrel revolver with a wooden handle. The male may have been parked in the Center for Shopping Plaza as he fled on foot in that direction.

The Sanford Police Department is asking anyone who can identify this man or observed anything suspicious in that area to contact them at (207) 324-9170 and select the number four on their tip line. The department also stated there is a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction of the suspect.
