PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Police in Portland have arrested a man wanted in New Hampshire wanted in New Hampshire on burglary charges.
Investigators say on Tuesday evening, Ryan Raiche, 31, approached a woman near the intersection of Congress and High Streets and grabbed a cell phone out of her hand.
Police say the incident was caught on the dash cam of a nearby police cruiser outside the WCSH 6 studios.
"I was really angry, so I chased after him a bit even though I probably shouldn't have," said Janice Pratt, the woman who had her phone stolen. "He wasn't the smartest guy because it's all on camera outside the station here and there was a police car parked right here."
Several other cruisers arrived on scene shortly after the theft --and officers began combing the area.
When they caught up with Raiche, police charged him with robbery, receiving stolen property and being a fugitive from justice.
Investigators say they were already looking for Raiche. The say he was also caught on camera selling stolen jewelry and electronics at a pawn shop.
