EAST MILLINOCKET, Maine (NEWS CENTER) --- It is budget decision time for many towns in the Katahdin region. This comes as town leaders there are trying to figure out how much revenue they will be getting from the state under the newly-passed budget.

East Millinocket passed its town budget and school budget at a meeting on Tuesday night. The roughly $4.4 million budget for school expenses has to be upheld by town voters. A referendum on Thursday in East Millinocket will decide that.

Meanwhile the town also has to decide whether to take a $1.8 million bond to make needed repairs to Schenck High School. That vote will take place on July 18, 2013.

This all comes at a time when East Millinocket is expecting less revenue from Augusta next year under the state budget. Leaders in Millinocket will be taking up their budgets on Thursday. That town is also looking at getting less money from the state for next year.
