PORTSMOUTH, NH (NEWS CENTER) -- After a car chase, a foot chase and a brief struggle, police in Portsmouth, New Hampshire believe they got the woman behind a pharmacy robbery.
Shortly after 1:30pm Sunday, a worker at the Rite Aid on Islington Street called to report that a woman had just passed a note demanding prescription drugs, and had taken off in a white SUV.
A short time later, police noticed a white SUV, and the driver noticed police, so she took off and led them on a chase for less than a mile.
The driver crashed into a car, then took off again and stopped outside a building on Ledgewood Drive. That's where she got out and, after a brief struggle, police subdued Cheryl Lees. Police say Lees lives in the building on Ledgewood, where she was caught.
Lees is facing a number of charges in the ordeal and is due in court on Tuesday.
She was not injured in the crash, but the driver of the car she apparently ran into suffered minor injuries.
