LEWISTON, Maine (AP) - Four suspects in three apartment fires are due to be arraigned in Maine's second-largest city.
Police announced Friday that 23-year-old Bryan Wood and 29-year-old Brian Morin were charged in the third in a string of fires in Lewiston. Two 12-year-olds also were charged previously in separate fires.
All four were due Monday in District Court. The Portland Press Herald says the preteen boys are expected to appear in open court in the juvenile proceeding because of the seriousness of the charges.
The three fires destroyed nine buildings and displaced nearly 200 residents.
The fires drew attention to the aging housing stock in Lewiston. One of the buildings had been condemned, and several were vacant.
