AUGUSTA, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Newburgh native Ricky Craven's passion has driven him around the country and now the former NASCAR driver has come full circle as a member of the 2013 Maine Sports Hall of Fame.

A NASCAR analyst with ESPN for the last five years, Craven's dedication to his craft has seen him survive several setbacks, including a serious crash that nearly ended his career and even his life back in 1996.

He'd eventually bounce back from that capturing two Sprint Cup races (Martinsville, 2001 & Darlington 2003).

He's also one of only 22 drivers to win a race NASCAR's three highest circuits:  the Camping World Truck,  Nationwide, and Sprint Cup Series.

Craven became just the third auto racer to be enshrined in the Maine Sports Hall of Fame after the induction of Kennbunkport's Dick McCabe in 2004 and Scarborough's Ralph Cusack in 2005.
