COFFEE COUNTY, Tennessee (WSMV) -- Officials with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said an autopsy is underway Sunday to determine how the cause of death of a woman found murdered near a cave in Coffee County.
Investigators said the woman, who has not yet been positively identified, was found Saturday, her body partially burned.
The area where the victim was found is an old rock quarry, which locals call the caves. A neighbor said they're a place many are known to explore by day and gather at night.
"Normally, they'll go up there and have a fire," Noah Fults said. "But last night they just kept going back and forth."
