What seemed like a cute reference when the play first came out in 1972 lost its humor a few years later when Mineo was stabbed to death.  For the movie, the line was changed to make reference to Elvis Presley instead.

The new line appeared in the song "Look at Me, I'm Sandra Dee," which was sung by Stockard Channing as Rizzo.  Channing was born on Feb. 12, 1944.
