BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- It's going to be a big summer for Maine Breweries when Bangor holds its first ever beer festival.
After several months of planning the Greater Bangor Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) has approved the cities first festival focused on Maine beers. The festival is called Tap Into Summer and will take place Saturday, June 22 on the Bangor Waterfront. The one day event will offer VIP taste testing, food and entertainment, as well as several expert seminars.
"To bring one to Bangor where we get to toot our own horn in our own back yard is just a wonderful opportunity for us for marketing," said Greater Bangor CVB Treasurer Mike Anderson.
Anderson's business Penobscot Bay Brewery along with Geaghan Brother's Brewing Company, Sea Dog Brewing Company and several others will be on hand with beer samples and to answer questions.
