LEWISTON, Maine (AP) - Oxford Networks says it's eliminating a dozen positions due to company restructuring and changing technology needs of its customers.

The Lewiston-based company's president and CEO, Craig Gunderson, says restructuring is a necessary part of its transformation from a traditional telephone company to a full-service technology provider.

Gunderson says employees whose jobs are being eliminated will receive a severance package, career counseling and assistance with resume writing and job applications. The eliminated positions represent less than 10 percent of the company's overall workforce of 134 employees.

The 113-year-old telecommunications company says it expects to add new jobs in the future as it continues to grow by offering increasingly sophisticated technology to customers throughout northern New England and beyond.
