NEWS CENTER - Quinton Porter has always worked hard to take his game to the next level. Whether it was for Coach Mike Bailey at Portland High, at Boston College, an NFL practice squad or for the last 5 years playing for the Hamilton Tiger Cats of the Canadian Football League, Porter always wants to improve.

With the CFL in its off-season, Porter has used the last few years to come back home and use his years of experience to help get Maine football players to that next level and possibly fulfilling someone's dream of playing in college or better yet, the pros.

This year, Porter has stable of local coaches helping players from all around Maine including kids from South Portland, Cheverus and the Class A State Champions Thornton Academy Golden Trojans. Quinton expressed excitement that his coaches can help the likes of Erik Christensen and Gatorade Player of the Year Andrew Libby with the skills that will take them to the next level. Quinton's coaching stable includes his brother Lucas and fellow Mainer, Gorham graduate, former Baltimore Ravens Tight End Kendrick Ballantyne. Porter believes the combined experiences of his staff can help kids from Maine possibly make the Division 1 ranks in college football.

You can check out all Quinton and his staff have for football players who are interested at Quinton Porter's First Down Training website. Training sessions begin January 4th.
