LISBON, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Police have recovered what's left of a body found in Libson -- that could belong to Christiana Fesmire, the Lewiston woman who was murdered in 2011.
Police say a tip connected to the investigation led them to the wooded area in Lisbon off of Wagg Road on Tuesday -- and they worked to collect the skeletal remains Wednesday morning. The Chief Medical examiner's office is working to identify the remains.
In November, a jury convicted Buddy Robinson of murdering Christiana Fesmire, but Fesmire's body had never been found. Forensic investigators say the body should be identified quickly, but they wouldn't comment on the way it was hidden in the woods.
Police say now that the body has been removed -- they will continue to search the area for any remaining evidence.
