Canadian women recovering after being struck by van

BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Two women from Nova Scotia and New Brunswick are recovering after being struck by a van Sunday in Bangor.

Police say that around 6:00 PM Sunday, 62 year old Sandra Samuel and 66 year old Carole Day were crossing Hogan Road when they were struck y the vehicle.

Martin Willis, 83, of Brewer, was driving the van.

Both women were treated at the scene before being taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center.

As of Monday evening, Day is listed in fair condition while Samuel's condition is critical.

Police do not anticipate pressing charges.
