BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) --- Election workers around the Bangor area are gearing up for a busy day on Tuesday as after months of campaigning, it is time for voters in the Pine Tree state to make their voices heard.

The Bangor Civic Center will be open for voting beginning at 7 a.m. Tuesday until 8 p.m. Due to construction of the new Bangor arena, the only way voters will be able to enter Bass Park is through the Buck Street entrance. You can then find a place to park and enter the civic center through the 'Grandstand Entrance.' Officials say election workers will also be driving golf carts on Tuesday at Bass Park to help voters who need assistance getting into the civic center.

On Monday many election workers were there getting things ready as voting booths were set up by the early afternoon. Election officials in Bangor say they want to remind people to budget their time in going to the polls on Tuesday and realize that some times to vote will be more hectic than others.

"Usually mid morning is a little bit lower...mid afternoon...after that its pretty busy," said Dianne Lovejoy, who is the deputy clerk for the city of Bangor, "When people are getting out of work its really busy and I'm sure we'll be busy right up until 8 o'clock...but we can get people through really quickly. I know it may look like a long line but it goes really fast."

Voters in Brewer will also have one polling location on Tuesday as the Brewer Auditorium will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Election officials say people looking to register to vote at any polling location in the state on Tuesday will need a piece of identification, whether it's a drivers license or a state ID. You will also need proof that you reside in the place where you're voting. Officials say if your drivers' license has your address that will meet both requirements. If it doesn't, you can use other forms to prove you live where you're voting. Good examples are utility bills, W2s, tax returns or your vehicle registration.
