AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - A Maine man who state game wardens say was involved in the illegal killing or wounding of more than a dozen deer has been indicted on more than 50 fish and wildlife charges.

The Maine Warden's Service says 38-year-old Joseph Dalesky of Mount Vernon was indicted Friday on charges including night hunting, criminal trespass and hunting deer after killing one.

The agency says the indictment comes after an 18-month investigation into illegal hunting by Dalesky and several associates. Dalesky was initially arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, and the other charges were added after authorities consulted with the Kennebec County prosecutor's office.

Seven other people, including some of Dalesky's family members, also face charges. It's unclear whether Dalesky has an attorney.
