FRYE ISLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - After peaking at roughly 280,000 outages, Central Maine Power says they have restored service to all but 22 customers.
All of those customers are located on Frye Island. Crews will head out to the island Saturday morning to get them back online.
Winds from Irene knocked out power starting early Sunday morning, well before the storm's center reached New England. Outages escalated to some 280,000 Central Maine Power customers and 30,000 Bangor Hydro customers at the height of the service disruption.
Crews have been working since then to restore service to those affected by the storm.
