BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A man who Bangor police arrested yesterday who lead police on a chase through Bangor while on the drug "bath salts" appeared in court today.
Police say they tried to pull over Christopher Buzzell after he ran a stop sign, but he took off. They chased him until he crashed on Exchange Street, then he ran off.
When police caught up to him, they say he was mumbling and splashing in the Penobscot River just offshore. He was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center and then then Penobscot County Jail. He faces several charges, including operating under the influence. Buzzell is being held at Penobscot County Jail on $500 cash bail. His dispositional conference will be held on August 9th.
