CUMBERLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Fall's arrival signals hunting seasons for Maine hunters. The Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife has two publications designed to help hunters.
While every hunter is encouraged to read the current law book, DIFW has also published a Maine Hunting & Trapping magazine. It contains a list of new hunting laws, Maine's Game Plan for Deer as well as fee lists and other handy information for outdoorsmen.
It also encourages hunters to spend the upcoming weeks preparing for their season. One important preparation is to ask landowners for permission to hunt. Ninety-five percent of Maine is privately owned and all recreationists should ask permission to be on private land.
