Join Paul Doiron at the Portland Public Library's Brown Bag Lecture Series on Wednesday, December 12th at noon in the Rines Auditorium. Doiron will be speaking about his book, Bad Little Falls, in which Maine game warden Mike Bowditch has been sent into exile, transferred by his superiors to a remote outpost on the Canadian border. When a blizzard descends on the coast, Bowditch is called to the rustic cabin of a terrified couple. A raving and halffrozen man has appeared at their door, claiming his friend is lost in the storm. But what starts as a rescue mission in the wilderness soon becomes a baffling murder investigation.

Paul Doiron is an award-winning journalist and the author of The Poacher's Son, which has been nominated for the Edgar and Barry Awards for "Best First Novel." Bad Little Falls is his third book in the Mike Bowditch series. He is the editor in chief of Down East: The Magazine of Maine, Down East Books, and A native of Maine, he attended Yale University, where he graduated with a degree in English, and he holds an MFA in creative writing from Emerson College. Paul is a Registered Maine Guide and lives on a trout stream in coastal Maine with his wife, Kristen Lindquist.
