Since 1965, Ron St. Pierre has been working to develop the young people of Bangor through education and sports, especially baseball.

Ronald J. St. Pierre of Bangor retired from teaching after 26 years at Bangor High School and went to work for his coaching colleague and friend John Fitch who had founded the engineering firm, The Fitch Company. Ron was responsible for getting the business incorporated in 1992 and is still the Chief Financial Officer of the corporation.

St. Pierre played baseball in college and has coached youth baseball since 1978. Ron also served on the Board of Directors of BANSCO Federal Credit Union, was a board member of the Barking Foundation Scholarship Committee for 15 years, and served 20 years on the Bangor Legion Baseball board.

St. Pierre is a founding member of the Mansfield Stadium Committee (the Stadium is a community gift from Stephen King). He has been Field Manager since 1992, planning and executing, on a volunteer basis, the field schedule and the upkeep of what is considered the best natural baseball playing surface north of Boston. A top-caliber baseball facility is a result not just of the stadium, but even more so, a result of constant attention and care for the field.

Doug and Senator Nichi Farnum say that Ron knows "when to water, mow, and change the infield mix, but Ron really knows how to lead young men." His young workers learn a great lesson when they see Ron work as hard, or harder, than they do.

Ron and his work have been instrumental in developing Bangor as the official home of the Senior Little League World Series starting in 2002. Teens from all over the world enjoy Bangor's, and Mansfield Stadium's, hospitality. Ron St. Pierre has provided a field of dreams to Bangor.
