PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A 9-year old boy from New Gloucester is now an honorary deputy in the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.
Cameron Tufts got a police escort to the Sheriff's department from school, before he was sworn in Thursday afternoon. He's fighting leukemia, and soon the Make-A-Wish Foundation will be giving him the entertainment center he's asked for for his room.
But Cameron also wants to be a law enforcement officer, just like his uncle, Cumberland County Sheriff's Deputy Matthew Tufts.
When asked what he'll tell his friends at school tomorrow, Cameron said he probably won't tell them anything because, "They don't believe anything I say."
