AUBURN, Maine (AP) -- Maine State Police say an autopsy will give them more guidance in what they're describing as a suspicious death in Auburn.

Maine Public Safety Department spokesman Steve McCausland says a man was found dead when police responded to a 911 call from a neighbor at 5:30 a.m. at an Auburn apartment.

McCausland said state and local police searched the apartment on Monday, but that they expect to conduct more interviews. He said the state medical examiner's office will perform an autopsy Tuesday.

Police haven't released the identity of the victim.
